Sperm reports beyond a daily production figure

A result should answer a defined question

Ask why the information was requested, who will explain it and how it could affect a decision. Bring the full report rather than a number taken out of context. Different results may answer different questions, and further testing should have a reason. A report is the start of an explanation, not a substitute for one.

Questions to take to your appointment

  • How is my report interpreted?
  • Does it need confirmation?
  • What history should I discuss?

Keep the next step specific

Write down which question matters most to you and ask who can help answer it. This reading does not establish a diagnosis, a treatment recommendation or availability at a particular clinic. Contact the centre to discuss an individual consultation; do not include medical records in an initial email.
